I recently tweeted about how I find conversion rate data so valuable in Google Analytics…
This goes for both Google Analytics “goals” (which could be the “thank you” page of a contact form for example) or Google Analytics e-commerce stats (if you run an online shop)
Proving Long-term ROI
It’s great to have clients sticking around for 12+ months so they can see the proof of ROI year on year. A recent bit of analysis for a client revealed an e-commerce revenue increase of 25% year on year from organic search traffic. Result! Conversion rate was up too (well that’s kind of implied!).
Google Analytics Year on Year Analysis
I love being able to do year on year comparisons with clients’ sites with Google Analytics. Shows how far they’ve come (with our help!). Being able to report on e-commerce sales that came via organic search traffic in Google Analytics is powerful. It’s all about the long-term results.
So do you do similar analysis and reporting? Do you run any other specific reports for clients to demonstrate a tangible ROI for their marketing spend?
Would be great to hear your thoughts… Feel free to add a comment below!
